    Metabolism is when your body converts food into energy. Throughout this complex biochemical process, calories — from carbohydrates, fats and proteins — are combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function.

     

    In other words, Metabolism converts food calories to energy needed to perform various tasks like exercise. Many variables including genetics, gender, and age, contribute to your metabolism. As you age, your body becomes less effective at burning calories, mostly because of a gradual decrease in activity and resulting loss of muscle. Your metabolism can dip as much as 25 to 30 percent over your adult life.

     

    There are many tips for boosting your metabolism – some of the basics include:

     

    1. Exercise more. You boost the energy essential to your body, which raises your metabolism when you walk, run, or lift weights,. Regular aerobic exercise, such as walking daily for 30 minutes or more, is an excellent way to burn calories. You can improve your metabolic rate up to 10% after a training program, when you excercise with weights. During weight training, muscle tissue is stressed; afterward, its repaired which raises metabolism

    2.      Eat Breakfast. Success in losing weight has been highly related to breakfast, even though without it your metabolism won’t go into “starvation mode”. Eat a protein based diet. Protein also helps control your appetite with longer lasting satiety and that’s where the real benefit comes in – it helps you prevent overeating.

    1. Practice portion control. This helps ensure you don’t over burden your metabolism with an excess of unusable energy (that is, food).
    2. Better to eat smaller meals more often. Known as grazing. “Grazing helps normalize blood sugar levels rather than producing three large spikes, which is what happens eating three meals a day,”
    3. Laugh. When researchers from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, found that when people were shown funny videos, the subjects’ metabolic rates rose by 10 to 40 calories.

    I’ll admit now that I spent thousands on crap dieting products only to end up back where I started a few months later. I hope by showing you my path to success I can save you wasting the same money.

    I unearthed a gem of a system, works great for me. I can easily plan what I need to do and then tick the tasks of as I do them every day.

    I plan meals with a computer generated meal planner. Meals that don’t leave me feeling empty and are perfectly healthy. Stress free meal planning.

    When I planned my meals I used to stress over what I should and shouldn’t be eating. Now, I generate a full menu with the computer and print it out. Couldn’t be simpler.

    Still thinking you can’t lose weight? You will lose that stubborn flab with a system that holds your hand all the way. It’s guaranteed to do so.

    I see my adult life as part one and part two. Although there is weight loss involved here it’s not why I see it in two parts.

    My before part is before I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My after part is what happens after, dealing with the aftermath.

    I didn’t think I was too overweight for someone in my mid twenties. I regularly carried about fifteen pounds extra.

    I’d been on the diet merry go round many times but I lacked the motivation. Plus I’d brainwashed myself into thinking I can’t lose weight.

    When I was motivated it seemed to take ages to lose a few pounds. When I wasn’t motivated it seemed to take about a day to pile it back on.

    Then came the bombshell of diabetes. I know it’s not the end of the world but at the time it really feels like it.

    I was told in no uncertain terms to drop the weight, or suffer. I had to stop thinking I can’t lose weight and start thinking I can lose weight.

    What the hell was I gonna do? I was convinced for most of my adult life that I simply can’t lose weight. I needed to get hold of a dieting system that worked for me.

    As I like to be a bit obsessive, I wanted something that I could follow step by step. Something that gave me a list of daily tasks that I could tick off one by one.

    If the steps were planned meals or exercise routines then I’d need to tick off that it was complete. This way I know I’m sticking to the game plan.

    I tried a lot of dieting systems with varying levels of success. Some costing silly amounts of money. I joined online forums and read lots of books and Ebooks.

    I eventually discovered a neat little step by step system that has a computer generated diet planner, which importantly doesn’t restrict your portion sizes. It makes it so quick and easy to plan meals.

    Remember me saying I like to tick off the boxes every day? This system does that for me. Pardon the pun but this system ticks all my boxes!

    Still think you can’t lose weight? I can tell you from my experience that isn’t the case. Maybe like me you need a system that holds your hand and works for you. That system could be the same one I’m using, who knows?
