- Keep a diary. This will let you see the progress you have made when you are feeling depressed. It also increases your commitment as you have “someone to answer to”…
- Set realistic goals. A lower weight loss target over a shorter period is better than a mountainous big goal – the little checkpoints will add up to your total in the end anyway.
- Exercise! Even just twenty minutes exercise will increase your metabolism and help you to burn some calories faster. You will tend to lose weight quicker with daily exercise than just diet alone.
- You will find your exercise much easier to do if you really enjoy it. So do something fun rather than just sit on that rowing machine - swim, or join a dance class, anytihng that stimulates you too.
- Allways buy the low fat alternative. Many times there will still be sugar and probably still plenty of fat in low fat ice creams etc, but if you have to have some always pick the low fat version. Especially treats such as ice cream and chocolate.
- Don't be afraid to leave some food on your plate. You don’t have to finish everything on your plate – dont stuff yourself - just stop eating when you are full.
