I know this sounds crazy but body-builders are the best dieters. They build muscle with strenuous exercise and over eating. What good is it to them if no one can see the muscle under all those layers of fat. We all have great abs somewhere under our inner blubber. In fact we all have a great physique or potentially great physique somewhere.

Body building is also about dieting, loosing fat to show their muscles at exhibitions that had there all the time. Also be a bit wary of the scales. You can loose fat and become healthier but weight the same, because muscle weighs more than fat.

You will discover that you body is a bit awkward to deal with. Sometime you can eat more and loose weight or starve and not change. The body is reacting by its own principals trying to optimise its survival for all eventualities. Body fat has developed to protect you during famine. Famine in northern Eurasia was common in winter or after bad harvests. Poor people grew and ate boiled cabbage in those times. If we go back before say 1840 this was true and is still true in parts of Africa today.
The only way to solve the dieting problem which is today is a great industry is to increase your metabolic rate and restrict food intake. Beware your body might think its a crisis and compensate by trying to maintain body fat levels. You just have to learn how to trick your metabolism and hope it works. Most of these diets we see come from Hollywood where actors are trying to look their best for performance. It is quiet funny when they hold their stomachs in on film.
